What a week it was..
So last week started off with a hunting trip. It was a blast. Did not get to shoot anything but that is okay. However, God did something that I was not "expecting".
During the weeks of prep before the trip, I had just had a small thought and prayer about the trip. I had memories of when we got to be of assistance to a gentleman years ago on a caribou hunt. We were able to assist him in getting his kill into his vehicle. It was quite the ordeal. Anyways, I was thinking back on that trip and had the thought/prayer, "God, it would be cool if nothing else we could be a help to someone on our trip". to be honest, I had forgotten about it up until we came across a man by the name of Greg who was in a really bad spot. I may have forgotten, but God did not. What a blessing it was to help him get his truck out of the situation he had put it in. As soon as we saw the truck, I was instantly reminded of what I had asked God to "do" (?) for me. We assisted him and he got out. however, he got away before we could give him a tract. We prayed for our upcoming day and thanked God for allowing us to be of assistance. We then asked God if possible, could He give us one more chance to hand Greg a tract. WHAT A GOD WE SERVE!! Not ten minutes later..... there sat Greg's truck. We could not find him, but we did leave him a tract on his windshield. My prayer now is that God can use it to plant a seed.
you know, I was honestly ready to go home after that. I felt like I had accomplished what I was out there for. However, I was also there to spend time with my son and father. We pushed on that day and then sat up till almost dark hoping to convince a bull that we were another bull looking for a fight. Needless to say, we failed. That night was rough and the following day went down from there. But God is good and we headed home. I can only speak for myself when I say, I was not greatly disappointed for not seeing or getting a moose. He has other plans for me. I was glad that God heard a quick little prayer, and answered it.
